It's perhaps the goriest zombie trailer you'll see this year. June 17, 2005. FSUDOL fills us in on the progress of "CITY OF ROTT". "Things are going great on the new Black Arro Productions film, "CITY OF ROTT". This is seriously some of my best work ever put to DVD. The action kicks ass, with some really gory battle scenes not to be missed by zombie fans who prefer action. The story hasn't been second-handed either, which integrates the zombies throughout, while still focusing on the individual main characters. I'm very pleased with the progress, and zombie fans have something new to look forward to." -FSudol ARCHIVE TEXT BELOW: BlackArro Productions, www.blackarro.com, is branching out into the dark realm of animated Horror for it's first film feature. The untitled project features Frank's high detail illustration work, along the lines of some of the gory creatures drawn by Frank. On a side note, this project is not related to Frank's ifilm.com "Rise Zombie Rise" Short, which took a more humorous approach. These zombies are not as expressive, don't run, and don't have as much intelligence as the cartoon zombie portrayed in that short animation skit. But remain calm, this is not just another mindless zombie flick with a brainless plot. Frank has dived deep within the recesses of his mind to create a compelling, heart-tugging, gut-munching story where a lone traveller struggles to survive amidst the living dead. Nevertheless, there are countless original plot, story and character details which cannot be divulged at this time. Here's a short bit from Frank Sudol on the BlackArro Productions zombie project in development: "I'm a fan of George A. Romero's Dead films. Ever since I was a kid and saw Day of the Dead, I was captivated by the rotting zombies hordes. That film is really gritty. And then there's Sam Raimi's Evil Dead Series, which has a ton of gore and good "zombies"..." "Anyway, I've always wanted to do an uncut zombie film of my own, with an original take on things, but remaining faithful to the mass of zombies, and their crazed madness for guts. Such simple minded creatures, but very dangerous if you get close, or bit. Great horror, where the world is consumed by filth ridden, rotting corpses walking a dead land where few survivors remain. I think that's an awesome atmosphere to capture and put on film in a new way. Too many movies get lost in the characters and second-hand the zombies, which is the real reason I watch a zombie movie. Dawn of the Dead, the original, really delivered on the zombies." "Zombies should be slow if they're rotting. I'm making sure they don't run, mainly cause a zombie is more fun to watch, knowing you have the advantage over the stupid, weak, clumsy corpse. Too bad there's a thousand more waiting outside. Does it remind me of a society gone wrong? Maybe. There's thought put into this film; in the character's, their interactions, and how the zombies became zombies, but most importantly, surviving and exploring a zombie infested world." "Stay tuned, you won't be disappointed in this if you're a Zombie/Horror Fanatic. I'd spill the guts on more of the story, and show more images, but I'll keep the lid on it till later... You ask what do I know about a good zombie flick? Check out the image below to get an idea where I'm heading with it." -FSudol Anyway, here's your first glimpse at an exclusive frame from the feature, which is being held under wraps till it's release draws near in 2005... Go to www.blackarro.com for more details. Oh, and go see George A. Romero's 'LAND OF THE DEAD' if you like his other living dead films, such as 'Night of the Living Dead', Dawn of the Dead and 'Day of the Dead', which has superb zombie effects by Tom Savini. Land of the Dead is scheduled to release in the USA June 24th, 2005. |

-BlackArro Productions- BlackArro Productions is developing animated films relating to the horror sci-fi/action genre at present. Take a look at Frank's creature artwork to get a good idea what kind of style the studio intends to take visually. A firm example is one of the high detail creatures featured in the gallery section on this site. www.blackarro.com is at present, geared towards bringing new ideas and experiences for horror fans. Being a horror fan since he was a kid, Frank believes BlackArro has plenty of new pathways and fresh stories to offer anyone interested in the horror genre. "City of Rott" is for mature audiences ages 17 and up, due to heavy animated gore and violence. -FSudol |

| Wanna Learn how to Draw Cartoons? So you're drawing basic stuff, but it still feels flat? The next step, is to learn how to angle your character so they're not always facing front. Maybe you can make one eye smaller than the other. The smaller eye is farther back from the one in the foreground. This is getting some perspective in your drawings. Next, work on the other parts. Soon, your drawings will feel like they're not so flat anymore... But keep perspective in mind. Angle things if you have to... -FSudol | |||||||||||||||||||
